Packaging Equipment
NytronPackaging helps businesses source reliable packaging machinery tailored to their operational and production needs. Whether you are setting up a new production line from scratch, expanding an existing facility or replacing ageing equipment, we provide practical machinery sourcing support backed by genuine technical knowledge of how the machines we supply interact with the packaging materials we produce.
This is not a generic equipment brokerage service. Because we run flexible packaging production lines ourselves every day, we understand what a machine needs to do, what to look for when evaluating a piece of equipment, and what questions to ask before committing to a purchase. That operational knowledge is what we bring to the equipment sourcing conversation with our clients.
New and Used Equipment
We source both new and used packaging machinery depending on the client’s budget, timeline and production requirements. New equipment comes with manufacturer warranties, current technology specifications and the assurance of known provenance. Used equipment offers a significantly lower capital outlay and — when properly inspected, serviced and documented — can deliver many years of reliable production at a fraction of the cost of new.
We evaluate every used machine we source on behalf of clients before recommending it, and we can arrange independent technical inspection where required. We will not recommend a piece of used equipment we would not be confident running in our own facility. If the condition of a machine does not meet the standard required for the client’s application, we say so clearly and look for an alternative.
Rotogravure and Flexographic Presses
Print machinery is at the heart of flexible packaging production. We source rotogravure printing presses in a range of configurations — from four-colour lines suited to mid-volume label and packaging applications through to eight-colour and ten-colour lines for high-volume premium packaging production. We also source flexographic presses for clients whose print requirements are better served by flexo — including central impression (CI) flexo lines for film printing and inline flexo lines for label and tag applications.
When sourcing a press, the critical parameters we work through with you include the number of print colours required, the substrate range you intend to run, the web width and production speed needed to meet your volume targets, the drying system — hot air, UV or EB — and the registration and colour control technology on the machine. Getting these specifications right at the outset avoids the expensive problem of buying a press that cannot do what you need it to do.
Slitting and Rewinding Machines
After printing and lamination, flexible packaging film needs to be slit from the wide master roll produced on the press or laminator down to the narrower widths required for bag-making, label application or direct supply to the customer’s filling line. Slitting and rewinding machines handle this process, and the quality of the slitting operation directly affects the quality of the finished packaging — a poorly slit roll produces bags with inconsistent seals, labels that do not feed correctly, and film that runs badly on automated filling lines.
We source duplex and turret slitter-rewinders in a range of web widths and tension control configurations. For clients producing labels or narrow-web products, we source narrow-web slitters with the precision required for accurate lane-to-lane registration. For clients producing wide-web film for FFS applications, we source heavy-duty slitters capable of handling large roll diameters and weights at production speeds.
Laminating Machines
Lamination machinery bonds multiple film substrates together to produce the multi-layer structures used in the majority of flexible packaging applications. We source both solvent-based and solventless laminating machines, and we can advise on which type is most appropriate for the structures you intend to produce and the regulatory and sustainability requirements of your target markets.
Key specifications to consider when sourcing a laminator include the web width, the coating head type and coat weight range, the drying oven capacity for solvent-based machines, and the tension and register control systems. We work through these with you based on the film structures you plan to produce and the volumes you need to achieve.
Bag-Making Machines
Bag-making machines convert laminated or co-extruded film rolls into finished bags and pouches — pillow pouches, stand-up pouches, side-gusset bags, quad-seal bags, flat-bottom bags and a range of other formats depending on the machine configuration. The range of bag-making equipment on the market is very wide, from simple single-format machines running at modest speeds through to multi-format servo-driven lines capable of producing complex pouch formats with zippers, valves, spouts and handles at high speed.
We match the machine specification to the bag formats you need to produce, the film structures you will be running, your required output speed and your budget. We also consider the skill level of your operating team — some machines are significantly easier to set up and change over than others, and for operations without experienced machine setters, simplicity and reliability often matter more than maximum theoretical speed.
Filling and Form-Fill-Seal Machines
Form-fill-seal (FFS) machinery forms a package from roll stock film, fills it with product and seals it — all in a single continuous operation. Vertical FFS (VFFS) machines are used for free-flowing products including powders, granules, liquids and small solid pieces. Horizontal FFS (HFFS) machines are used for solid products — confectionery bars, biscuits, cheese portions, medical devices and similar items that need to be placed into the forming packaging rather than dropped or pumped in.
When sourcing FFS equipment we work closely with the client’s roll stock or film specification to ensure the machine and the material are compatible — the sealing jaw temperature, dwell time and pressure settings required to achieve a reliable seal are determined by the sealant layer in the film structure, and a machine that is not correctly specified for the film it will run produces unreliable seals and high film waste.
Quality Inspection Systems
Automated quality inspection equipment — vision systems, seal integrity testers, checkweighers, metal detectors and barcode verification systems — is increasingly important in packaging operations where manual inspection cannot keep pace with production speeds or where regulatory requirements mandate documented product inspection. We source inspection systems appropriate to the production speed, product type and regulatory requirements of your operation, and can advise on integration with your existing line control systems.
Cylinder Engraving Equipment
For clients operating their own rotogravure print facilities, we source cylinder engraving and plating equipment — including electronic engraving systems, copper plating lines and chrome finishing equipment. This is a specialised category that we are well placed to advise on given our own in-house cylinder manufacturing capability, and we can provide practical guidance on cylinder workshop setup and operation that goes beyond what equipment suppliers typically offer.
Technical Guidance and After-Sales Support
Equipment sourcing does not end at the point of purchase. We provide technical guidance on installation, commissioning and operator training for machinery we supply, and we maintain relationships with service engineers and spare parts suppliers for the equipment categories we work in. If a machine we have sourced develops a technical issue after installation, we are a call away and will help you get it resolved.
We also provide ongoing advice on running parameters, film and material compatibility, and maintenance scheduling — the practical operational knowledge that makes the difference between a machine that runs reliably for years and one that causes constant problems.
Working With Us
If you are looking for a specific piece of packaging equipment, tell us what you need — the format, the speed, the substrate, the budget and the timeline. We will search our supplier network, evaluate the available options and come back to you with a clear recommendation. If you are at an earlier stage and still working out what equipment you need for a new production line, we are happy to have that broader conversation and help you think through the specification before you commit to a purchase.
